How to Setup Multifactor Authentication and Access your Microsoft 365 Portal

  1. Open a web browser on a computer and navigate to the site outlook.com.

  2. Enter your new username and password.

  3. You will be prompted to change your password.

  4. You will be prompted to set up multifactor authentication.

  5. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone.

    • For an iOS / iPhone device, use this QR code to download the app App Store

    • For android device, use the following QR code to download the app from the Play Store

  6. Hit the plus sign in the top right corner of the app and add a new work/school account.

  7. You will be prompted to scan a QR code in the web browser.

  8. You will be prompted on your phone to verify it is you logging in.

  9. You are now logged into the M365 portal and can access your email.

You can now add this email to a device as an exchange account.

You will need both your password and authenticator code every time you log in.
