Instructions for creating new teams within the system.

This guide is designed for directors who need to manually add teams to the USSSA system, especially for situations where teams cannot register themselves publicly due to specific requirements or classifications. This function is essential for managing youth teams that must comply with additional steps, such as background checks, before their registration is completed.

Step 1: Accessing Team Management

  • Log into DC: Navigate to your DC dashboard at DC.USSSA and sign in.

  • Team Management: Go to the 'Team Management' tab and select 'Create/Import Teams.' This area allows you to manually create team entries.

Creating Individual Teams:

  • Specify Details: Choose the sport, registration season, and classification for the new team. Input the team's name, state, and other required details.

  • Manager Information: Add the manager's details. If the manager ID is known, inputting this will auto-fill the manager's data. If not, enter the manager's contact information manually.

  • Registration Options: Once all information is inputted, decide whether to save the team details for later registration, register the team immediately but pay later, or register and pay immediately.

Bulk Team Creation via Import:

  • Preparing for Import: For registering large numbers of teams, such as those from a league, use the import function. Download the Excel template from the 'Import Teams' tab.

  • Filling the Template: Change the sport at the top to ensure you access the correct team classifications. Input or paste the team and manager data into the template.

  • Uploading and Registering Teams: Once your template is complete, upload it through the DC. The system may require you to fill in any missing details before saving. Choose to register now or later, similarly to the individual team creation process.
